LLC Combats Homelessness with Grant to

Wesley Youth Housing Program

A $17,600 grant from the LLC Fund was approved in March, 2023, to support the Youth Housing program of Wesley Urban Ministries, a local non-profit multi-service organization offering support for people experiencing poverty, homelessness and barriers in the community.

Wesley’s Youth Housing Program is a residential program designed to help young people between the ages of 16 and 21, who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, achieve the goal of living independently. The program includes apartment-style units, on-site support, goal-setting help and social and recreational activities to enable these young people to develop the life skills, confidence and independence they need to navigate challenging times.

This grant helps to fund the costs of youth outings, skills classes materials and essential needs kits (including bedding, towels, kitchen essentials and hygiene supplies). The LLC is pleased to support this important program to help combat the scourge of homelessness as part of its continuing commitment to the welfare of children and young people in our community.
